North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy (NEIAH) is an Autonomous Institute under the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India located at Mawdiangdiang,Shillong, Meghalaya. The Institute is functioning with College of Ayurveda & College of Homeopathy, offering UG courses in BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine Surgery) and BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery), having 50 students intake capacity each w.e.f academic session 2016-17. Both the Courses are affiliated to the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), a Central University, Shillong. Classes for the two batches of both BAMS & BHMS for 2016-17, 2017-18 are running full-fledged.
The Institute is going to admit 50 candidates each for BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine Surgery) and BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery) courses for the academic session 2018-2019. Candidates who have qualified in NEET 2018, conducted on All
India basis by CBSE and are desirous of taking admission in NEIAH for the above-mentioned
courses may download the prescribed application format from the website www.neiah.nic.in

Age Limit : 17 to 25 Years. Age relaxation as per GOI Rules.
Educational Qualification : The applicant should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner
mentioned below :
a) Candidate must have passed 10+2 with the subject comprising Physics,
Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology).
b) The applicant must have passed in the Subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology
(or Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a
minimum of 50% for General candidates and 45% for ST/SC category
candidates.
c) For Foreign nationals, ICCR will be requested to forward the applications to
NEIAH for admission under the AYUSH Scholarship Scheme. NEIAH will
examine the applications in terms of admission into the course.

2. Name of the Course : Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery (BHMS)
No. of Seats : 50
Age Limit : 17 to 25 Years. Age relaxation as per GOI Rules.

a) Candidate must have passed 10+2 with the subject comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology).
b) The applicant must have passed in the Subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Botany and Zoology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% for General candidates and 45% for ST/SC category candidates.

*Note : Separate forms are to be filled & submitted for both the BAMS & BHMS

**Classes for both 1st year BAMS & BHMS will commence on 20/08/2018.
Application Fee : An Application Fee of the amount mentioned as under should be remitted by the candidates to
the Institute in the form of DEMAND DRAFT in favour of Director, North Eastern
Institute of Ayurveda & Homeopathy, Payable at Shillong .

b) ST/ SC/ PWD - Fee Rs 500/-
How to Apply : Duly filled in applications in prescribed format enclosing self-attested copies
of all certificates, mark sheets, NEET 2018 Admit Card with mark sheet, testimonials in support
of age, PRC, educational qualification certificate, caste/community/Persons with disabilities
(PWD) certificate issued by Competent authority of Central/State Govt., two copies of recent
passport size photographs along with application fee (Demand Draft) should reach the below address on or before 31.07.2018. The envelope containing application form should be superscribed as "APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION INTO BAMS/ BHMS COURSE" and sent by Speed-Post/by Hand.

Method of Selection :
1) A combined merit list of all the candidates will be drawn on the basis of their
performance in the NEET 2018.
2) Inter-se merit : In the case of two or more candidates securing equal marks in the Entrance
Examination their inter-se merit shall be determined from the marks of the
Entrance Examination as follows :
- Eliminating first Physics marks.
- If there is still a tie, by eliminating Chemistry marks.
- If there is still a tie, by eliminating Botany marks.
- If the tie is still not broken, then a candidate senior in age to a candidate who is junior in age.
3) Selected candidates will have to attend Counselling and Medical examination at the
Institute at their own cost on the notified date. At the time of Counselling, candidates will
have to attend in person and will have to produce the original Mark sheets of the
qualifying examination and other original documents such as proof of age, Caste
Certificate, Character Certificate, etc.
4) To fill the vacancies arising due to the failure of appearance by the selected candidates,
sufficient number of candidates from the waiting list will also be called for Counselling intimating their merit position in order. Such candidates will have to appear
for the Counselling on the notified date at their own risk and cost.
5) Candidates who fail to attend Counselling/Medical examination on the notified date shall
forfeit their claim for admission and placement in the waiting list.
6) Result and other related notifications will be placed in the official website www.neiah.nic.in and the Notice Board of Examination cell, NEIAH, Shillong.
Fees & Expenses : All the selected candidates are required to pay the Admission fee, Course Fees and Other Deposits, etc. as per rule in force only by NEFT.
1st Year (12 Months) : Rs. 31,100/-
2nd Year (12 Months) : Rs. 20,500/-
3rd Year (12 Months) : Rs. 20,500/-
4th Year (12 Months) : Rs. 30,750/-
Total : Rs. 1,02,750/-
Hostel fee is not included in the above fee structure as the Institute is having no
hostel accommodation presently. Any accommodation if provided in near future from the
institution will be chargeable as per the prevailing Rules & Regulations at the time.

Courses & Distribution of Seats : The Institute conducts the 5½ years Degree Course in Ayurveda and Homeopathy viz.,
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) & Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S.) respectively. The courses are full time regular courses as per the regulation of respective Councils, approved by Govt. of India and Govt. of Meghalaya. Both
the courses are affiliated to The North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong.

***Note :
- Application received after the closing date will not be considered. The Institute shall not be responsible for any postal delay/ lapse on the part of courier agency or any other reasons whatsoever. The decision of the Director, NEIAH will be final in this regard.
- Institute reserves the right to make any amendment or cancellation of this advertisement wholly or partially without assigning any reason thereof.
- No Nomination of candidates from any State Govt. Directorate of Higher Education/ Head of Department of AYUSH will be entertained; admission will be solely on merit list NOTE- Separate forms are to be filled & submitted for both the BAMS & BHMS courses. Generated on basis of NEET Score. So, Candidate is advised to directly apply to NEIAH.
- The candidate shall have to appear for counselling (Document Verification), if called for, at his/her own cost.
- The date for determining the age limit is 31st December, 2018.
- During admission, a student with his/her parents/ guardians has to furnish a Bond on nonjudicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/- for the payment of liquidated charges at Rs. 50,000/- or Rs. 3,00,000/-, whichever is applicable, for non-completion of the course. ( Annexure- III & Annexure- IV)
- During admission, a student with his/her parents/ guardians has to furnish a Bond on nonjudicial stamp paper for of Rs. 10/- for Anti Ragging Bond. ( Annexure- V & Annexure VI)
- A student is also to submit all original Certificates at the time of admission, which shall be duly returned on completion of the course.
- 75% attendance as per NEHU rules is mandatory for the students to be eligible for appearing in annual examination.
- Any corrigendum/ order regarding this advertisement will be issued and posted on the Institute’s website (www.neiah.nic.in) only. Candidates are advised to remain in touch with the website for this purpose. No separate corrigendum etc. will be published in newspapers.
- Application fee is non refundable.
- No TA/ DA will be entitled to the candidates for appearing in counselling/ admission.
Transportation : The Institute provides free limited transportation facility for the timely transportation of its students for classes via feasible route through convenient points in the city. Students who wish to avail of the transportation facility offered by the Institute are to abide by the route to be decided by the Institute in due course of time. No request for change of pick-up or drop-off points shall be entertained at any cost. (Subject to availability of transport services)
Reason which may lead to Rejection of Applications : Candidates are advised to read all instructions carefully before and check their application before
submission. Applications are likely to be rejected on one or more of the following reasons :
- Applications received after the closing date.
- Applications not received in prescribed format.
- Candidates not having the required qualifications and being over age.
- Applications without latest passport size photo not being pasted in the provided space.
- Applications without declaration.
- Applications without signatures.
- Applications without supporting documents.
- Applications which are incomplete/illegible in any manner.
- Applications without the prescribed Application Fee
- Applications without the Permanent Residential Certificate in prescribed format.
- Application without Caste certificate (if applicable), not older than 6 months (OBC Non Creamy Layer Certificate from competent authority).
