Applications are invited from Unmarried Male and Female (Including Wards of Battle Causalities of Army Personnel), for Grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army.

Age : For NCC candidates (including Wards of Battle Casualties) 19 to 25 years as on 1st January 2019 (born not earlier than 02 January 1994 and not later than 01 January 2000, both dates inclusive).

Fixed Stipend for Cadet Training : Stipend to Gentlemen or Lady Cadets during the entire duration of training in Service academics i.e. during Training period at IMA and OTA (Rs. 56,100/-).

Note : On Successful Commissioning, the Pay in the Pay Matrix of the Officer Commissioned shall be fixed in first cell of Level 10 and the period of training shall not be treated as commissioned service and arrears on account of admissible allowances, as applicable, for the training period shall be paid to cadets. 

Educational Qualification & Other Criteria : 

(i) For NCC 'C' Certificate holder :

(a) Educational Qualification : Candidates should Possess Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years/ semesters. Those studying in final year are also allowed to apply provided they have secured minimum 50% aggregate marks in the first two/three years. Such students will need to secure overall aggregate of minimum 50% marks if selected in interview, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.

(b) Service in NCC : Should have served for minimum Two Academic Years in the Senior Division / Wing of NCC.

(c) Grading : Should have obtained minimum of 'B' Grade in 'C' Certificate Exam of NCC. 

Note : 

• Candidates who have passed the graduation degree course must produce the proof of passing the degree course by 1st of April 2019 to the Directorate General of Recruiting, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
• The candidates studying in the final year of graduation must submit the proof of their passing the Graduation Degree Exam by 1st of April 2019 to the Directorate General of Recruiting, failing which their candidature will be cancelled. Those who are not able to produce the degree certificate / provisional degree by the specified date will be inducted on Additional Bond Basis only on submission of proof of their passing graduation degree exam to the Directorate General of Recruiting by the above specified date.

(ii) For Ward of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel : The Vacancies under wards of Battle of Casualties are available to wards (Unmarried Sons and Daughters including Legally Adopted) of Battle Casualties specified as :-

1. Killed in Action.
2. Died of wound or injuries (Other than self - inflicted).
3. Wounded or injured (Other than self - inflicted).
4. Missing.

(a) Educational Qualification : Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years.

(b) NCC 'C' certificate NOT required for Wards of Battle Casualties.

(c) Eligibility for Wards of Battle Casualties and details of Documents to be provided in the Application Form are as under :- 

• The 'Battle Casualty' certificate no. issued by MP dte / Respective Regimental records and vetted by AG/MP-5D certifying that the parent has been killed/wounded/reported missing in action.
• A copy of MP Dte / Respective Regimental Records Part II Order No. notifying injuries and being classified as "Battle Casualty"
• Relationship Certificate No. issued by MP 5 & 6 / Respective Regimental Records

Note : Applications will be submitted Online by ward of battle casualties with details of documents mentioned as at Para 9 (j) below. However, they will carry all documents at the time of SSB in original. Incomplete documents will be summarily rejected by the selection Centre and No representation in this regard will be entertained or replied.

Training : Duration of Training is 49 Weeks at OTA, Chennai.

After Completion of Training Cadets will be Commissioned as a RANK of "Lieutenant".

Pay Scale will be : Rs.56,110 - Rs.1,77,500/- (Plus Other Admissible Allowance).

Selection Procedure : 

(a) Shortlisting of Application 

(b) After Shortlisting Eligible Candidates will undergo SSB at Selection Centres, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Kapurthala (Punjab).

(c) Candidates will be put through Two Stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the Same Day.

(d) Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically Fit, will be issued Joining Letter for Training.

Note : 

• AADHAR CARD : All candidates recommended to Join the Training Academy are required to have their AADHAR CARD prior to Joining Training. Candidates are therefore advised to obtain their Aadhar Card at the Earliest.
• Request for Change of SSB Interview date / centre will NOT ne entertained or replied.
• The candidate should have never been debarred from appearing in any examination by UPSC.
• The candidate should have never been arrested or convicted by a criminal court or involved in any case.
