Applications are invited from LAW GRADUATES UNMARRIED Male and Female for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army for Judge Advocate General (JAG) Branch.

ONLINE APPLICATION WILL OPEN ON 19 JULY 2018 AT 1200 HRS AND WILL CLOSE ON 16 AUGUST 2018 AT 1200 HRS.

No of Posts : 14 (Men- 07 & Women- 07).
Age Limit : 21 to 27 Years as on 01 Jan 2019 (Born not earlier than 02 Jan 1992 and not later than 01 Jan 1998 both dates inclusive).


Educational Qualification : Minimum 55% marks in LLB Degree (Three year professional after graduation or five year after 10+2 examination). The candidates should be eligible for registration as an advocate with Bar Council of India / State. Candidate should be from College / University recognised by Bar Council of India.

Fixed Stipend for Cadet Training : Stipend to Gentlemen or Lady Cadets during the entire duration of training in Service academics i.e. during Training period at OTA (Rs. 56,100/- P.M).

Note : On Successful Commissioning, the Pay in the Pay Matrix of the Officer Commissioned shall be fixed in first cell of Level 10 and the period of training shall not be treated as commissioned service and arrears on account of admissible allowances, as applicable, for the training period shall be paid to cadets.

Training : Duration of Training is 49 Weeks at OTA, Chennai.

After Completion of Training Cadets will be Commissioned as a RANK of "Lieutenant".

Pay Scale will be : Rs.56,110 - Rs.1,77,500/- (Plus Other Admissible Allowance).

Selection Procedure :

(a) Shortlisting of Application

(b) After Shortlisting Eligible Candidates will undergo SSB at Selection Centres,Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Kapurthala (Punjab).

(c) Candidates will be put through Two Stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the Same Day.

(d) Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically Fit, will be issued Joining Letter for Training.

Note :
  • AADHAR CARD : All candidates recommended to Join the Training Academy are required to have their AADHAR CARD prior to Joining Training. Candidates are therefore advised to obtain their Aadhar Card at the Earliest.
  • Request for Change of SSB Interview date / centre will NOT be entertained or replied.
  • The candidate should have never been debarred from appearing in any examination by UPSC.
  • The candidate should have never been arrested or convicted by a criminal court or involved in any case.
  • Candidates withdrawn from NDA, IMA, OTA, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy or any service training Academy on disciplinary grounds are not eligible to Apply.
